Intern Program

 

How do you get a job without experience?  And how to you get experience without a job?  Interns who work for Farm Credit Services can solve this problem by taking advantage of the opportunity to work and learn in a real work environment with mentors and professionals who work in their respective fields of study.

 

Qualifications

 

College sophomores and juniors pursuing bachelors degrees in agriculture, business or related fields are welcome to apply for one of our summer intern positions.  Candidates must be willing to relocate within a one-state area.  Our territory includes Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Tennessee.

 

Program

 

You'll be assigned a mentor who will guide you through the components of the lending business and help you with your career objectives. You'll also be involved with an intern training program, giving you the opportunity to network with others involved in the program.  Specific duties include completing an assigned marketing or finance related project, presenting the project to Farm Credit leadership, completing the summer intern development guide and attending sales meetings.  A marketing project will be designed specifically for the intern's office location needs.  Projects could include direct mail campaigns, special event planning, prospecting customers through research or analyzing underwriting standards.

Successful Summer Interns:

  • Complete their assigned project
  • Present their project to Farm Credit leadership team

  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Have good verbal and written communications skills

  • Assist office staff with daily activities
  • Use Farm Credit systems and computers

Summer Intern Program

College students work and learn with mentors from Farm Credit Services.  Their experiences include kick-off events, an intern retreat, various projects, and presentations to senior management on their accomplishments.
