Billboard welcomes FFAers to Indy

Indiana State FFA Officers featured on I65 billboard

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – October 8, 2007  – FFAers, advisors and others in the agricultural industry attending this year's National FFA Convention will be greeted by Indiana’s state FFA officers on a billboard located south of the Indianapolis Loop on I-65. The FFA convention will be held October 24 through 27 and is expected to draw over 50,000 visitors.

For several years, Farm Credit Services of Mid-America – an ag lending cooperative - has worked with the FFA to create and erect a billboard showcasing the hosting state’s FFA officers during the national convention.

“When the national convention was in Louisville, we worked with the Kentucky FFA on the billboard project,” said Dick Poe, senior vice president – financial services for Farm Credit. “When the FFA announced plans to move the national convention to Indianapolis last year, we wanted to continue the program with the Indiana FFA state officers. Farm Credit has over 14,000 members in Indiana, many of whom are either personally involved or have youth involved in the FFA.  Not only is this billboard is a good way to provide exposure to the state association and its officers, it also allows us to show our appreciation for the work that the FFA does for youth across the nation.”

Farm Credit also provided personalized shirts in official FFA colors to each state FFA officer team in the agricultural lending association’s territory of Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee.
