Farm Credit Hosts Hagerstown Office Grand Opening

Over 200 members and guests celebrate the opening of FCS's newest sales office

NRHagerstown.jpgHagerstown, Ind.  (December 27, 2007) — The December 21st Grand Opening for Farm Credit Services of Mid-America newest office in Hagerstown, Indiana drew over 200 members, special guests and FCS employees, including several senior managers from the corporate office in Louisville, Kentucky and FCS Board Members Ed Yanos of Cambridge City and Matt Walther of Centerville.  The grand opening was held in conjunction with the office’s Christmas event and included a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with the local Chamber of Commerce followed by food and prizes which included rocking chairs and Pacers and Reba McIntire tickets.

The ag lending cooperative, which has 90-year roots financing rural America, relocated from a smaller office in Muncie, Indiana to the 3,800 square foot building in Hagerstown located at State Road 1 and Teetor Road.  The office services over 1,000 farmers and rural residents in Delaware, Henry, Jay, Randolph, Union and Wayne Counties and accommodates nearly $150 million in loan volume. “The Muncie office has been among our most successful offices across our territory,” said Alan Smith, vice president – financial services and manager of central Indiana FCS offices. “The new location in Hagerstown enhances our ability to serve our current members and serve the quickly growing central Indiana farm market.”

The Hagerstown office opened its doors earlier in December.  It is part of the Farm Credit network, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 81,000 members with over $13 billion in assets throughout Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee.

The Hagerstown 7-person office staff includes financial services officers Randy Coffman, Jeff Schmidt, Deanna Lehman and Mike Reed.  The customer service representatives are Anita Gabbert, Julie McDonnell and Amy Reed.  They transferred from the Muncie office.

“The last few weeks have been an exciting time for us.  We have been overwhelmed by the support of our customers and this community,” said Smith. “We feel this new and improved office represents our long-standing commitment to central Indiana and to serving rural America in general.  We’re glad to have such a strong presence in a community that has such a strong tie to agriculture.”
