Farm Credit Hosts Russellville Office Grand Opening Over 100 members and guests celebrate the opening of FCS’s 89th sales office.
Russellville, Kentucky. (March 12, 2008) — Despite dreadful weather conditions, last Friday’s Grand Opening for Farm Credit Services of Mid-America newest office in Russellville, Kentucky drew over 100 members, special guests, Russellville leaders and FCS employees from several area counties, including FCS director Jimmy Mays and representatives from the Chamber of Commerce. In addition to the traditional ribbon cutting ceremony, guests of the FCS grand opening were also treated to a BBQ lunch.
The agricultural lending cooperative, which has 90-year roots financing rural America, opened its 89th office facility at 251 Hopkinsville Road next to Farm Service Agency in Russellville on January 17. The new office in Russellville serves over 350 member-customers in Logan, Todd and Muhlenberg Counties, representing over $70 million in loan volume. It is part of the Farm Credit Services network serving over 82,000 members across Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee.
The staff at Russellville includes Financial Services Officers Mike Parker and Jarrod Coles and Customer Service Representative Shelly Head. All reside in Logan County, the location of the new office.
“The last month has been an exciting time for us. We have been overwhelmed by the support of our customers and this community,” said Parker during the Grand Opening festivities. “We feel this office represents our long-standing commitment to Russellville and to serving rural America in general. We’re glad to have a strong presence in a community that has such a strong tie to agriculture.”
The Russellville facility is one of at least five new office construction projects scheduled for 2008. Already, the ag lending cooperative has opened six new facilities over the last two years and has remodeled or reconstructed an additional three facilities.
