Bob Barton - Lexington, Kentucky - Chair
Bob Barton, in partnership with his brother, Jim, owns a 1,200-acre tobacco, corn, wheat and soybean operation in Kentucky’s Fayette and Scott counties. Together, they background cattle and own a country grain elevator. He and his wife, Janie, reside on a farm near Lexington, Kentucky and have two grown children: Matt and Elizabeth and daughter-in-law, Jen.
He has served as president of Fayette County Farm Bureau, as chairman of Fayette County Conservation District and Fayette County Extension and as director for UK National Alumni Board. He is a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
Barton graduated from Lexington Catholic High School and received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Kentucky.
He has served on the FCS board since 1998 and has recently been re-elected chair of the board. Additionally, he has served as chair of the audit committee. He has served as director for the Farm Credit Council and is a former member of FCS Tellers Committee and the Lexington FCS advisory committee.
