Farm Credit Hosts New Philadelphia Office Grand Opening Over 200 members and guests celebrate the opening of FCS’s 90th sales office.
New Philadelphia, Ohio. (March 28, 2008) — The Grand Opening for Farm Credit Services of Mid-America newest office in New Philadelphia, Ohio drew over 200 members, special guests and FCS employees, including the New Philadelphia’s Mayor Mike Taylor and FCS Advisor Gary Buky, as well as various members of the Tuscarawas Chamber of Commerce and the Soil and Water Conservation District.
The ag lending cooperative, which has 90-year roots financing rural America, opened its 90th office facility at 313 Canal Avenue next to the FSA office in the Dickson Building. The new office serves FCS members from Tuscarawas and Harrison Counties.
The Grand Opening began with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with the Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce followed by lunch catered by Hog Heaven.
The New Philadelphia location opened its doors on March 6. It is part of the Farm Credit network, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 82,500 members with over $13 billion in assets throughout Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee.
The staff at the New Philadelphia office includes Financial Services officer Liz Long and Customer Service Representative Shelli Laizure.
“The last month has been an exciting time for us. We have been overwhelmed by the support of our customers and this community,” said Bill Zuga during the Grand Opening festivities. Zuga is vice president of the northern Ohio Farm Credit region and manager of the New Philadelphia location. “We feel this office represents our long-standing commitment to New Philadelphia and to serving rural America in general. We’re glad to have such a strong presence in a community that has such a strong tie to agriculture.”
The New Philadelphia facility is one of at least five new office construction projects scheduled for 2008. Already, the ag lending cooperative has opened six new facilities over the last two years and has remodeled or reconstructed an additional three facilities.
