Ohio producers encouraged to attend free sessions on industry insights
As the Ohio soybean industry considers issues ranging from rising commodities prices to new uses for soy-based products, the upcoming Ohio Soy Industry Insights Forums may prove to be one of the most enlightening planning events you'll attend this summer.
The Ohio Soybean Council is bringing together Ohio's soybean producers and industry representatives to discuss today's trends and tomorrow's opportunities in the soybean business. Notable industry experts will conduct presentations and panel discussions on topics ranging from agriculture and farm management to composition and new uses for soybeans. Included in the program is Bill Lankswert, vice president - finance for Farm Credit who will address interest rate trends in a changing environment.
In order to accommodate participants from around the state, the forums will be offered at two different locations, on two separate dates. There is no cost to attend the event for Ohio soybean producers, so why not make plans now to attend?
- The first forum will be held at Owens County Community College in Findlay on August 26, 2008.
- A second forum will be conducted at Clark County Fairgrounds on August 27, 2008.
According to John Lumpe, Executive Director of the Ohio Soybean Council, the 2008 Ohio Soy Industry Insights Forums will be a different type of conference. "An interactive forum like this offers a unique opportunity for the industry and producers to come together," he explained. "We're excited to see everyone sharing in a vision for the future."
Chasitie Euler, of Monsanto, also talked about the wealth of information that will be addressed. "The presentations and panel discussions will cover a wide range of important topics. Everyone will benefit from attending," she added.
The agenda for the day-long forum meeting is designed specifically with Ohio soybean producers in mind. The speakers include a range of industry professionals who bring extensive expertise and insight on topics ranging from risk management, finances and new marketing tools to soybean composition, future traits and challenges facing our industry.
"We look forward to seeing many Ohio soybean producers who are serious about planning for a successful future join us at the Ohio Soy Industry Insights Forums," commented Mr. Lumpe.
The 2008 Ohio Soy Industry Insights Forums are sponsored by the Ohio Soybean Association, Ohio Soybean Council, United Soybean Board, ADM, ASGROW, Cargill, Bunge, Farm Credit Services of Mid-America, Monsanto, QualisoyTM, Soy 2020, VistiveTM, Ohio Bioproducts Innovation Center and Pioneer/Dupont.
In today's ever-changing marketplace, it's good business to continually learn about the latest opportunities available at both the local and global levels. The 2008 Ohio Soy Industry Insights Forums promise to be interesting and informative events designed to give participants a chance to gain a greater understanding of the soybean crop's value to the ultimate end consumer.
