FCS breaks ground for new office in Mt. Orab, Ohio
Mt. Orab, Oh. (August 6, 2009) — Farm Credit Services of Mid-America today announced the opening of a new office in Mt. Orab, Ohio affirming the agricultural cooperative’s commitment to reach deeper into farm markets and foster growth in rural America. Mt. Orab is located about 30 miles east of Cincinnati.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held August 4 and was attended by staff, leaders and directors of Farm Credit as well as representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and the realty company. Additionally, Mayor Bruce Lunsford was at the event.
The Mt. Orab office will be located at 100 Grieshop Street and will open its doors in November. Serving over 700 member-customers in Highland, Clermont, Adams, and Brown Counties, the office is currently located in Winchester. The Winchester location will close with the opening of the new office in Mt. Orab.
Farm Credit Services is an agricultural cooperative lender serving more than 85,500 members throughout Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. According to Bob Foster, Regional Vice President, the opening reflects the growth that FCS has experienced in recent years. “Our organization continues to make strides in penetrating farm and agri-consumer markets even with the challenges in the economy. At the end of the second quarter, association’s loan volume was up over 8% compared to June of 2008,” he said. Foster noted that they are seeing positive net income as well the first six months of the year with income of $68 million. The office currently has $87 million in business.
Foster said moving to Mt. Orab gets the office and the staff closer to its members. It also offers them more in terms of convenience and it will allow them to better serve the local farm market.
The Mt. Orab office is the latest in a series of construction projects for the ag lending cooperative to modernize and update their offices.
Staff at Mt. Orab includes Financial Services Officers Kathy Conaway and Danielle Shiveley. Customer Service Representatives are Cheryl Reid and Missy Danbury. All currently work out of the Winchester office and bring with them a wealth of agricultural lending and mortgage experience.
